TakeScanner ("we", "our", "the app") is a document scanning application operated by Takemoneys LLC ("we", "us"). Privacy is a core design principle of this app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Our Privacy Principles

On-device by default. Documents you scan, their OCR text, folders, signatures, and metadata are stored locally on your device.
No account required. You can use the app fully without creating an account or signing in.
No tracking. We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, and we do not build advertising profiles.

3. Data Sent Off-Device (Optional Features)

Most features work entirely on-device. The following features transmit data only when you actively use them:

3.1 AI Summarize (optional Pro feature)

When you tap "AI Summarize" on a document, the OCR text of that document is sent to our processing server at takescanner.top/ai-proxy.php, which forwards the request to OpenAI's API to generate a summary. The summary is returned to your device and stored locally.

We do not store your document text on our servers after processing.
OpenAI's data handling is governed by their Privacy Policy. For API requests, OpenAI does not use your data to train models.
If you provide your own OpenAI API key in Settings, requests go directly from your device to OpenAI and do not pass through our servers.
You can disable AI features entirely in Settings.

3.2 Remote Configuration

The app periodically fetches non-personal configuration data (feature flags, promotional content) from takescanner.top. These requests do not include any personal information, document content, or device identifiers beyond standard HTTPS request metadata.

4. Permissions We Request

Camera — to capture photos of documents for scanning. Photos are saved directly to the app and never transmitted.
Photo Library — to import images you select for scanning. Only images you explicitly pick are accessed.
Face ID / Touch ID — to lock and unlock sensitive documents. Biometric data never leaves your device's Secure Enclave.

You can revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings → TakeScanner.

5. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personally identifying information directly.
We do not have analytics SDKs (no Firebase Analytics, no Google Analytics, no Facebook SDK, no Mixpanel, no Segment).
We do not share data with advertisers.
We do not sell data to anyone.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive only the transaction receipt from Apple necessary to unlock Pro features on your device. We do not receive your credit card number, name, or billing address from Apple.

7. Children's Privacy

TakeScanner is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

On-device data persists until you delete it from within the app or uninstall the app.
AI summary requests are not retained on our servers after the response is returned (stateless proxy).
You can delete all app data by uninstalling TakeScanner from your device.

9. Security

All network traffic uses HTTPS/TLS. Document data on-device is protected by iOS file-level encryption tied to your device passcode. Optional per-document locking uses Face ID / Touch ID backed by the Secure Enclave.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Because we store almost nothing on our servers, most of your data lives on your device and is directly controlled by you. 11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, prominently notified within the app.
